The other day, a student from BAU showed this reference in class and it fascinated me. Logically, I searched online the next day and was even more surprised to discover that it was a student piece. In the academic environment, screens are usually saturated with good intentions, heaped with details and ornamentation. In this particular case, this piece seems very mature, an effort at excellent synthesis which does not rely purely on composition, it also supports itself on movement, color and sound to create an intoxicating metaphor of madness. Frame to frame, it is reminiscent of the first vanguards, from Russian constructivism to Malevich's suprematism, but it is specifically its' movements that convert this piece into a strong example of what audiovisual design is all about. There's no doubt, Jr. Canest is a emerging talent or more likely, already emerged!
